2.4 Inbound Client Requests

when seeking services from a hopscotch provider, all prospective clients (or respective caregiver) must complete and submit a consultation request form which includes client information, method of payment, and a summary of presenting concerns hopscotch providers have the option to additionally activate the easy scheduling feature which allows clients to schedule a 15 minute introduction call or a 1 hour intake appointment along with the consultation request form the option to provide a 15 minute introduction call is at the provider’s discretion and is not eligible as a reimbursable expense to the provider at this time the 1 hour intake appointment is eligible for reimbursement and must be documented with the appropriate information and selected code for compensation all scheduled appointments will remain pending until accepted and confirmed by the provider when a request is received, the provider will receive an email notification to review and make a determination whether to accept or decline the request to ensure that all clinicians are upholding hopscotch's mission to provide our clients with prompt access to behavioral health services, providers agree to respond to these requests in a timely manner, allowing no more than 24 hours between the time of request and response repeated lack of timely response to client/caregiver requests by a provider may result in temporary suspension or removal from the network if the provider chooses to accept a client request and only a consultation form has been submitted at that time, the provider will contact the client to schedule the first appointment if the provider accepts a request where the client has scheduled a 15 minute introduction call or a 1 hour intake appointment, the pending appointment will be confirmed, and the provider is expected to meet with the client at the scheduled date and time during the completion of the consultation request form, along with a summary of presenting concerns, clients are screened for the following has your child experienced any of the following self harm behaviors in last 3 months, suicidal attempts in last 3 months, recent inpatient psychiatric hospitalizations, active suicidal or homicidal ideation, active disordered eating, or active substance use? does your child have a history of abuse (physical, emotional, or sexual abuse or neglect) or other trauma? is your child being court ordered to seek treatment or are there any current legal or custody issues related to your child? hopscotch providers must use their best clinical judgment to analyze the information provided in the consultation request form to determine whether to accept or decline the request providers are expected to only accept new clients to their caseload that fit within their current scope of practice a provider assumes all risk and responsibility of providing services to a client that is not within their clinical scope of practice and must utilize their individual professional liability insurance for any malpractice claims that occur hopscotch providers are recommended to use the following criteria when reviewing the case consultation request form am i able to effectively treat the presenting concern(s)? do i have experience providing services effectively to the specified age group? do i have expertise in providing services to clients with abuse/trauma histories, if indicated? am i available to accommodate ongoing sessions? is there an indication that a higher level of care or referral is needed? am i willing to potentially take part in legal/court proceedings, if indicated? are there any other indications that there may not be an appropriate fit between therapist and client (e g client expectations for treatment, presenting issue is not a diagnosable mental health condition, dual relationship issue, client prefers in person sessions and therapist is virtual only)?
